Gigantul Google implineste 11 ani de existenta, celebrand ziua cu un logo sugestiv.

 

Initiat in 1998 proiectul denumit BackRub, s-a dezvoltat rapid, reunind tehnologii si sisteme complexe de calcul al relevantei rezultatelor returnate.

Numele 'Google' este un joc de cuvinte de la 'googol', neologism pus în circulaţie de către americanul Milton Sirotta în anul 1938, prin care acesta desemna numărul uriaş format din 1 urmat de 100 de zerouri (10100).

On Sept. 4, 1998, the companyfiled papers establishing it as a California corporation.

But does it celebrate today? Actually, no. The corporate history says Google has sometimes marked Sept. 7, or Sept. 27, and a few years ago it gave up on the specifics and posted a page saying, "Google opened its doors in September 1998.
